Should Your VPN Stay On All Day?
The short answer: yes, most of the time.

What always-on VPN actually protects

- You are troubleshooting internet problems. If a website is broken, test once with the VPN off. That tells you whether the problem is the site, the VPN route, or your connection.
- You need the lowest possible latency. Competitive gaming and video calls can be sensitive to routing. Test both ways and use what performs better.
That is not failure. That is just using the tool like a normal person.
