WireGuard vs OpenVPN: The Small Details That Matter
If you are choosing a VPN, you will eventually see two protocol names: WireGuard and OpenVPN. Both create an encrypted connection between your device and a VPN server. Both can be a sensible choice. The practical difference is mostly about how they behave during normal life.
OpenVPN has been around for a long time and is widely supported. WireGuard is newer and deliberately much smaller. That smaller design is why it often feels less noticeable on a phone or laptop.
Less code means less to manage
